Gamma Phi Alumnus Todd Blackwell is raising money for Push America and he wants your help!
Todd Blackwell was initiated into Gamma Phi in 1990 and was active in the chapter until 1994. He has been an active alumni for a few years now, working hard to track down alumni from the 1990s and hosting alumni gatherings. A few months ago, Todd and his wife decided they wanted to run in this year's Azalea Trail Run in downtown Mobile. Then he found out that he could help raise money for Push America by participating in the Push America Challenge.
For those of you who haven't heard of the Push America Challenge, here's the scoop. The Push America Challenge offer individuals the opportunity to challenge themselves in endurance events while raising vital funds for the programs of Push America. Participating in an event is easy. All you have to do is pick an event, sign up through the event and then sign up on the www.pushamerica.org website to fundraise.
So Todd registered for the Azalea Trail Run, then went to the Push America website and registered the event and created his own profile. Now any Pi Kapp can run/walk in the Azalea Trail Run on the behalf of Push America and help raise funds. Several alumni in the Mobile area have gotten involved.

Hi All!
I wanted to thank everyone that has already pledged something for the upcoming Azalea Trail Run. I have pledges now for $1575.00!!! WOOT WOOT!!!
In case you didn’t know already some of us Pi Kapps and some of our kids are all prepping up to do the Azalea Trail Run(10K or 6.2 miles) or the 2 mile Fun Run on March 28.
We are also going to take this as an opportunity to raise some money for PUSH AMERICA. PUSH AMERICA is a charitable organization that Pi Kappa Phi started. PUSH stands for People Understanding the Severely Handicapped.
In case you didn’t know already…..Here in Mobile the Pi Kappa Phi’s have built several handicap accessible ramps for those that needed them. The money that we raise will help projects like these happen.
I know some of you guys have told me you are coming down to participate but I would like it if you could confirm that with me now if possible. It is only 6 weeks away so I need to get a handle on who all will be here. Also tell me whether you will be running/jogging or walking. We will have a group walking and a group running.
I am also asking again at this time for any of you guys that have not made a pledge already that if you are able to…..make one now. No pledge is too small…every dollar counts. Our goal is $2000 and I think we’re gonna exceed that!
