Chapter Recognized For It's Community Service

Gamma Phi brothers appear on the front page of the Metro section of the Mobile Press-Register.  In a news article published Jan 20, 2009, the fraternity is featured as a key part of the MLK Day of Service coordinated by the Center for Service Learning at the University of South Alabama.

Brother Travis Sorensen is pictured with other Pi Kapps on the front page.  Click the PDF file below to see the entire article.

Seventeen brothers, several alumni and five guys from the Occupational Theapy department met together to construct the ramp.  The building materials were purchased with accessibility grant money from Push America.

One Pi Kapp alumni from Gamma Xi chapter, brother Kynan Williams, showed up to meet the guys and help out.

The building project was part of a day-long Service Learning day sponsored by the University of South Alabama.  Over 500 students and staff participated in the event.
