On Sunday, Jan 18, from 9 AM to 4 PM the newly elected officers, committee chairs and alumni met for the annual Officer Transition Retreat. Gamma Phi officers for 2009 are as follows:
Archon - Brandon Petty
Vice Archon - Nick Hall
Treasurer - Andrew Schneider
Secretary - Patrick Bennett
Warden - Travis Sorensen
Chaplain - Nick Sherrill
Historian - David Buster
Alex Dumais and Hallet Poplin were in attendance as they are being considered for committee chairs and represent the future of Gamma Phi leadership. Brother Matt Muir joined the men at lunch for a special session. Chapter advisors Tom Peterson and Jay Hunt lead the retreat.
The retreat focuses on leadership development and
includes going over the duties of each officer, talking about the business of the chapter, analyzing our strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats (SWOT), planning the calendar and setting the vision for the year.
This year's retreat was held on campus in the brand new Meisler Hall. A big thanks to Dr. Stearns for letting us use the facility. Gamma Phi continues it's commitment to building a leading chapter. 2009 is going to be an exciting year for the fraternity as Gamma Phi looks to redefine fraternity on the campus of USA.
