Men of Character.
Pi Kappa Phi is dedicated to providing young men with the ideals and ideas that will inspire them to put more effort into becoming better students, better friends, better sons, and -- when the time comes -- better husbands and fathers. “Character is that which reveals moral purpose, exposing the class of things a man chooses and avoids.” — Aristotle, Greek philosopher
Pi Kappa Phi strives to build better men. Placing emphasis on the tenants of good character through moral courage, the pursuit of noble goals and commitment in the face of adversity.
A man of true character displays moral and ethical strength in any situation. Pi Kappa Phi is looking for men who display such strength - through personal integrity, ultimate respect and selflessness. A Man who demonstrates strength in character is a man who has truly chosen to lead by setting an example for others to follow. This man is an ideal Pi Kappa Phi.
Men of Leadership.
Pi Kappa Phi was founded to create leadership opportunities-by men who chose to lead. We’re looking for men who exemplify that same spirit- that leadership is a choice, rather than an office or position. And, Pi Kappa Phi sets the standard in leadership development with the most innovative and progressive programs in the Greek Community. With opportunities ranging from corporate levels leadership training programs to life strategy workshops, Pi Kappa Phi is committed to developing strong leadership in its members.“A leader must have a willingness to go in his own direction.
A founding father is, by definition, a leader. He challenges the system and creates a fraternity different from any other on campus.”Pi Kappa Phi has a special arrangement with the Covey Institute. The Leadership Institute features corporate-level leadership training based upon the Stephen R. Covey best-selling book. LIFE 401 is a dynamic career and life success seminar designed by Brother John Spence, a fortune 100 consultant. This opportunity will help you plan for your future after graduation.
Men of Academics.
Academics are important to every fraternity man; however, not every fraternity man is provided with the resources necessary to help him achieve academic success. Pi Kappa Phi provides advising and mentoring exclusively to its members through the Academic Coaching program-a program that is unmatched in the fraternal world. This level of support shows our strong commitment to academic achievement of our members.“My personal experience is that Pi Kappa Phi has not hindered my scholastic achievement, but rather promoted academics and the need for a strong work ethic.”
Every Pi Kapp has access to a paid and trained Academic Coach. This member of the University of South Alabama staff is a resource to help you achieve at your academic potential.
Men of Sportsmanship.
“Whether its on the playing field or within the fraternity, sportsmanship means having a team-mentality and working toward a common goal.”Pi Kappa Phi competes to win, but not all costs. There is a right way and a wrong way. The right way involves displaying sportsmanship-through dedication to your team, respect for your opponent and dignity in winning and losing. Your conduct and attitude as a sportsman speak to your quality as an individual. Whether in competition on the intramural field or on stage during Greek Week, Pi Kappa Phi is looking for those individuals who strive to compete with sportsmanship at all times.
Men of Service.
All fraternity men are involved in service, and Pi Kappa Phi takes that commitment seriously. Pi Kappa Phi is the only fraternity to establish and maintain its own national philanthropy, an organization call PUSH America that enhances the quality of life for people with disabilities. Imagine cycling across America to raise funds and awareness for individuals with disabilities. Imagine building an accessible playground so children of all abilities can play together. As a member of Pi Kappa Phi, you will have experiences that change lives of other; you will have experiences that will change your own life.Pi Kappa Phi remains the only fraternity to have created, owns, and operates its own national philanthropy – Push America.
And you have many, many ways to get involved in community service through special programs exclusive to Push America. Push Camps. Held during Spring Break, Pi Kapps from across the country renovate camps to enhance the summer camp experience for people with disabilities.
