Frequently Asked Questions

Why join Pi Kappa Phi?

Pi Kappa Phi is an organization of leaders. As a member, you'll surround yourself with quality men who are truly going places. Our letters are nationally recognized as "America's leading fraternity." You'll be a man of class and you'll form a life-long bond with men you'll be proud to call your brothers.

Nationally, Pi Kappa Phi boasts a membership of more than 100,000 men. This provides us with incredible opportunities & resources for networking, both on campus and across the country. With 131 active chapters and 14 associate chapters in 37 states, and with educational opportunities afforded no where else in the Greek community, Pi Kappa Phi has distinguished itself as a truly unique organization.

If I join, what will be expeceted of me?
You will be expected to be a man of character.  To be a brother in good standing with the chapter, only 3 things are required: 1) Brothers must attend Chapter Meetings once a week, 2) pay dues on time and in full, and 3) meet academic standards.

Is it a big time commitment?
No! We host Chapter events like socials, brotherhood gatherings, and leadership opportunities but most are optional. Most of the year it's a 5 hour-a-week committment. But, we believe that once you get to know us and see how we work, you'll want to spend as much time with us as possible.  Serving as an officer requires a greater time commitment.

What about hazing?
Despite what you may have heard, not all fraternities haze or abuse their members. In Pi Kappa Phi, you will never be hazed or forced to do anything you don't want to do. Our fraternity is about brotherhood, not about making you feel worthless.

How much are dues?
The lowest on campus! Pi Kappa Phi expects all brothers to pay their dues in a timely manner which allows our chapter to plan great events, conduct incredible opportunities for brothers, and to ensure the continued success of our chapter.  Unlike many fraternities on campus, Pi Kappa Phi provides cutting-edge tools that easily allow payment of dues using check, credit card, debit card, or funds transfer.  Accounts can be viewed online, and monthly statements are sent out via mail and email.  We will gladly provide you with a copy of the most recent Dues and Housing Fee Schedule.

What if I can't read Greek?
Of course you can't. Neither could we. Everything you need to know about Greek Life, we will teach you. That's part of the fun!
